If you don’t know about David LaChapelle I suggest you get on that! His pictures literally say a thousand words.

haiti is so fucked up right now its beyond comprehension. there are plenty of organizations you could donate you. i particularly trust yele.org however, wyclefs organization had come up with an idea that links other organizations in with their efforts. they are calling it the haiti earthquake alliance. do something, anything to help those in need. a state of panic is beginning to set in amongst the haitians and things can get alot worse, civility is only possible when people have food, water, shelter; lifes basic necessities. if not, it becomes every man for himself and there are many women and children survivors who will become victims a second time over.

YES!! Another item to cross off the “I’m a New Yorker and take it for granted” list. I toughed it out in the rain for 3 hours to watch a tree light up in 5 seconds. They did a test light. Only if I caught it on camera I could have been out. I know I know. It’s the experience.

It is amazing how many words in the dictionary give no real definition.

carrie horseface killed nameplates for me.

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

at one point in my life, i had a name plate that looked almost exactly like this. it was double plated and had diamonds in it. my dad so very fucking desperately wanted me to somewhat fit into the typical ‘girl’ stereotype that he bought me things i had no interest in at the time. i was runnin around playin manhunt with boys who barely spoke english, and climbed trees with their bare feet and hands back in the dominican republic. so not into name plates/earrings/bracelets/rings. but one night i was feelin flossy and wore it out. then i got jumped, robbed and poked in ENY and i lost my shit during the chaos, but bet your ass they didnt come off with mine! i saw them bitches lookin for it and yellin for it because i put up a fight. i thought my mom was gonna kill me when i got home! i love the look of these name plates but will never bring myself to get another one because sex and the city killed its appeal for me. why the fuck would a rich white woman who lives on the island of manhattan, and is into high fashion, walk around with hood jewelry? doesnt make sense.

anyhow, im off topic, this is about a new urban arts project called ‘a love letter for you’ and its goin on in philly. this is my fav piece, go find your own.
