how much is a human life worth? what about the life of a black man?

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

2-4 fuckin years according to alameda county california. where is the justice in this? an officer of the law shoots someone whos handcuffed and its involuntary manslaughter? its a travesty is what it is. its also murder and execution. as expected, there were protests after the verdict was given. they started off peaceful and after dark the real protesting started. although im not sure what looting foot locker has to do with civil disobedience… but whatever works, i guess.

more pics here.

dude from the first real world for congress.

i dont mean for that to sound like im tryna clown him, or be condescending. people from all different walks of life have held senate seats. arnold schwarzenegger (sucky actor), al franken (comedian), jesse ventura (pro wrestler), sonny bono (musician), et cetera all had “first jobs”.

what im sayin is, the angry black man from the original real world cast has blossomed into a wonderfully intellectual human being with honest concern for his community, and everyone who lives in it. covering a mass of land that would include williamsburg, clinton hill, bed stuy, east ny, canarsie, and flatlands, mr powell is attemptin to undertake a huge responsibilty indeed. native (true) new yorkers who dont have their head up their ass know these neighborhoods to be plagued by issues such as violence, domestic violence, extreme poverty, child abuse, police brutality, racial profiling, ignorance, predatory lending, discrimination, desperation, and overall helplessness. many people born in raised in the hood dont know how the fuck to make things better and if they have an idea, they may not know where to start.

when i began googling kevin powell for congress, i learned that he had two failed attempts at running for this seat. lets hope there isnt a third.

if you live in these communities, REGISTER TO VOTE, and then do so. dont be a dillweed and sit idle like some of the moronic celebrities who participated in puff daddys ‘vote or die’ campaign did. you have the right to a single vote. use it.

click here to read his platform (what he intends to do while in office)

you motherfuckers.

the mta is against everything unless they are capitalizing off of it. graffiti writers have been fined out the ass for catchin motions on trains and doin top to bottoms. the mta claims its expensive to clean the graffiti off and so the courts force people who are more than likely already below the poverty line to pay a fine to a multi million dollar corporation.

for any smart ass who thinks im unaware of the fact that the mta has no shareholders or owners, go fuck yourself. someones still makin $ off straphangers no matter what their title is.

at any rate, the mta is now going to advertise on the train. on the outside of the actual fucking train. they got rid of the red birds for big ass target posters? die.

also, i love how they bragged that it took days for the project to be completed. any one who knows how to use youtube can see graffiti writers doin entire clean trains in a matter of hours.

im an ignorant and negative nigga.

sad to say, but 5 pointz (originally phun phactory) will be closing for good at some point in 2010. the realty company who owns the building has decided that the repairs ordered by the dept of buildings is too costly and is going to… wait for it… build condos instead! yay gentrification!

Okay, I’ll tell you. Do you know the Muffin Man?

In summer of 08 I was sick as a dog and some how still made it to the museum mile festival. I started my own tradition in o5. I love it because I get to draw big hearts with chalk on the floor for bloooooooooooooocks. all legitimate.

But anyway all of the museums are free for that day and mostly all the exhibits. We lucked out and got to see an exhibit in the MET called ‘Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy’ which included works from Versace, Armani, Docle & Gabbana, and John Galliano.. PLUS a Jeff Koons installation on the roof! Whaaaaaat.

“The outdoor Christmas lights, green and red and gold and blue and twinkling, remind me that most people are that way all year round”– kind, generous, friendly and with an occasional moment of ecstasy. But Christmas is the only time they dare reveal themselves.”

Happy Birthday Tabz!!! Last night was a fun filled event of friendship, bowling, drinking and party favors. Velo is by far the best bowler. haha. But I caught up. My first game I bowled an 11 (insert taunts here) but the second game I came back with a 115. Bowling shark anyone?

It was a good night. Let’s do it again minus someone’s birthday.

YES!! Another item to cross off the “I’m a New Yorker and take it for granted” list. I toughed it out in the rain for 3 hours to watch a tree light up in 5 seconds. They did a test light. Only if I caught it on camera I could have been out. I know I know. It’s the experience.
